Description

Ontoawinner are delighted to welcome Amy Murphy to the team for the 2023 season. This beautiful chesnut Equiano filly was purchased at the recent Tattersalls Somerville yearling sales.

Being a January foal, she is very strong and athletic. She will be campaigned in both the U.K. and France next year. Amy has a satellite yard in Chantilly and we will target early 2 year old races there where possible. We have wanted to have an Anglo-France horse for some time and we believe we have found the ideal filly for this project. Amy had great success campaigning early 2 year old’s in France this year so we are delighted to have Amy train the filly.

Equiano, also known as the “King of Speed” was a high class sprinter by Acclamation who won the King James Palace Stakes twice during his illustrious career. Equiano topped the European 2015 second season sire premiership for wins (64) defeating both Zebedee and Paco Boy. He is a superb sire and has produced multiple Group 1 winners such as The Tin Man etc.

The dam – Freckles is by Arakan, she was a winner of 2 races and this is her first foal. The grand dam has produced multiple black type horses including Enforcer who was a Group 3 winner and was also 3rd in the Group 1 Coronation Cup. Its a very strong page on the dam’s side which will add to the residual value of our filly.

This filly is ideal for any owner that would like to go racing in France for good prize money. She has a very good walk and didn’t put a hoof wrong when parading. She is an early foal and has the strength and scope to make into a really nice racehorse. Shares will sell fast, get in touch to avoid disappointment.

About Amy

JulieC

In her formative years, Amy rode out for the likes of Nicky Henderson. Despite the distraction of regularly riding out and racing, she attained a triple distinction of highest honours at Hartpury in Horse Management. Further education was not in her plans as she set off for Cheshire to Manor House Stables, the new base of Tom Dascombe.
