Beechwood Mick scores at Newmarket
The David Loughnane trained Beechwood Mick lined up in the 2 year old race over 7 furlongs yesterday at Newmarket. The Holy Roman Emperor gelding was making his 3rd start and was ridden by Rossa Ryan.
Rossa bounced Beechwood out at the start and decided to make the running in the 4 runner field. He looked to have them in trouble 3 furlongs out and while green in the latter stages of the race, he showed tremendous attitude to go on to score at a price of 9/1. It was a big step forward from the horse and a fantastic ride by Rossa.
A big well done to his owners and all of the team at David Loughnane’s, he will get a handicap mark now and looks to be maturing and progressing nicely.
